Course Information:
This 12 hour face-to-face course prepares participants with the required practical skills and knowledge to provide mental health first aid to a person experiencing an emerging mental health problem, as well as providing assistance in a crisis.

Depression
Anxiety
Substance Abuse
Psychosis
 
Mental Health crisis covered:
Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
Panic attacks
Traumatic events
Severe drug and alcohol abuse
Severe psychotic states
 
Skills and knowledge:
Apply appropriate mental health first aid procedures
Correct communication and language
Respond to an emergency situation
Encourage professional help
 
Qualification & Assessment:
It is not mandatory to complete your accreditation, however the benefits are:
  • You can demonstrate that you have mental health first aid knowledge and skills
  • You are eligible to be appointed as a Mental Health First Aid Officer in your workplace
  • You will receive a 3 year accreditation from MHFA Australia
