The 1 day Forklift Course is relevant for any person wishing to obtain the Nationally Recognised High Risk Work Licence to operate a forklift (LF class).  Before you enrol ensure you review the detailed course instructions.  

No practical driver training is provided as part of this course.  It is "assessment only". Participants sitting this course are required to provide written evidence of at least 40 hours of forklift driving experience in a warehouse-type environment over the last 4 weeks.  Your evidence must be handed in at check in.  Failure to do so will incur additional rescheduling fees of 50%.  

Participants need to complete a practical assessment including manoeuvring a forklift through an obstacle course (forwards and in reverse), lifting pallets into pallet racking and lifting various loads into pallet racking at height, without receiving any training.

The course comprises a written theory assessment, followed by a practical assessment. Participants need to have a strong command of the English language in order to complete the written assessment for this course.

Note: Due to changes in WorkSafe's assessment process, there is a MANDATORY pre-reading component (of approximately 2 hours) which is required to be completed before sitting this course.  This can be done either online, or via a PDF workbook. Students who have not completed the necessary pre-course study on arrival for their training, will NOT be permitted entry to the classroom and will need to reschedule to an alternate date, at a cost of 50% of the course fee.

Upon successful completion, participants are issued with a temporary paper licence (valid for 60 days), within which time, participants need to apply to WorkSafe for their Nationally Recognised High Risk Licence and pay an additional fee of $95.

Eligible participants, working in the construction industry can apply for a subsidy of up to 70% of their course fee directly from the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund (BCITF) upon completion of this course.  We can provide you with the application form on the day of your course.

You will require a USI prior to obtaining the Statement of Attainment.

Pre-requisites:
Participants need to be at least 18 years of age;
Must have a strong level of English language to be able to complete the written theory assessment and understand spoken instructions in the practical component; Must have thorough current forklift driving experience; and must wear closed shoes to their course (preferably safety boots)
 
 
What to Bring:
Strict ID requirements apply for this course. You will need either:
1 x form of photo ID (Australian Driver’s Licence, or any passport) plus 1 x form of non-photo ID (e.g. Medicare or    ATM card);  OR 1 x form of primary non-photo ID that includes your date of birth (e.g. birth certificate), plus 2 x forms of secondary non-photo ID (e.g. Medicare, ATM, or Health Care Card)
